Mr. Smith supervises the accounting staff, establishing accountability and standards of performance. He is responsible for the preparation and reporting on financial statements, cash flow analyses, etc. of five entities to the Board of Directors, providing expert advice and consultation to management regarding financial/accounting functions and tax planning of the firms. Mr. Smith develops an annual financial plan and provides monthly analyses of variances from the plan during the year. He also maintains payroll, tax, insurance and fixed assets records, and is liaison with auditors, preparing special analyses as required for year-end audited reports.
Mr. Smith also coordinates with staff members regarding client billings in accordance with contractual agreements, and for collections.
Prior to joining H2M, Mr. Smith was supervisor at the accounting firm of Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Company, P.C. Starting as Junior Accountant in 1982, Mr. Smith soon became supervisor responsible for the auditing, review, tax work, and compilation for numerous government, industrial and private sector clients.
