(Melville, NY) -H2M Labs, INC, a laboratory analysis firm, is proud to announce that TANEEL ORTIZ., a resident of Long Island City, NY, has been promoted to Account Executive.
"Taneel is an outstanding member of the H2M team and has been a valued member of the lab for many years. We are very pleased to announce her promotion to the position of Account Executive," said Joann Slavin, Senior Vice President of H2M Labs Inc.
Ms. Ortiz serves as liaison between lab and client. She assists in contract administration and assists clients and potential clients with their regulatory and analytical testing needs. She provides information of analytical capabilities to H2M's major engineering, consulting and industrial clients. She works with clients to assure the correct methodologies, quality control requirements and deliverables are requested at the inception of each project. Ms. Ortiz also provides analytical cost quotations to current and potential clients
Previous experience at H2M Labs includes analysis and reporting of volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds by GC/MS according to USEPA methods and CLP reporting requirements. She is experienced in the analysis of water, soil and air using NYSDEC CLP protocols for priority pollutants, target compound list compounds and RCRA compounds. She performed all steps in the analysis including instrument calibration, sample set up, real time QC and reporting.
Prior to joining H2M, Ms. Ortiz was responsible for semi-volatile GC/MS analysis and sample preparation. Ms. Ortiz has been with H2M since 2003 and has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas.

(Melville, NY) -H2M Labs, INC, a laboratory analysis firm is proud to announce that Joann M. Slavin, Senior Vice President has been elected as the Secretary Treasurer of the New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories (NYAAEL).
Founded in 1979, NYAAEL is a non-profit association of NYS Department of Health approved environmental laboratories and related industry representatives. NYAAEL has many activities and services that benefit both members and the environmental community. The New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories (NYAAEL) is a non-profit organization of the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) approved laboratories and related industry representatives which takes a leadership role in promoting the advancement of environmental laboratories.
Joann M. Slavin is the Senior Vice President, and Laboratory Manager for H2M Labs. She received both an M.S. and B.S. degree in Toxicology from St. John's University, and is currently a member and Board Director of the New York Association of Approved Environmental Laboratories. Ms. Slavin a resident of Amityville, NY, started with H2M in 1980 as a chemist.
