Manufactured Gas Plant Analysis
H2M Labs, Inc. is actively involved in the testing of environmental samples from former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites. Former Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites are notorious for complex investigation and remediation. In some cases, the site and surrounding waters have been used for multiple industrial and commercial purposes for over 150 years leaving abandoned underground structures and multiple layers of contamination, including coal tar waste.
The main analytical concerns at MGP sites are volatile and semi-volatile organic compounds. BTEX is anaylzed in the volatile range, while a specific list of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) is analyzed in the semi-volatile range. Many investigations are performed in compliance with local, state, or federal regulations and therefore a more comprehensive list of compounds is analyzed.
Much of the MGP analysis H2M performs is in accordance with specific state and federal analytical and reporting requirements. These protocols requires strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance objectives as well as data package and EDD specifications.
Our Project Management Team understands the needs of utility and MGP sites concerning sampling techniques, regulatory requirements, data validation and usability standards. Each client is assigned an experienced Project Manager who ensures your project requirements, reporting formats, timetables and special service needs have been clearly defined and communicated.
See our test list for the full scope of analysis available at H2M Labs.
